10 Biggest News from E3 Conference 2009

The Electronic Entertainment Expo kicked off this week with many crazy announcements from Microsoft, Nintendo, Konami, Sony and more.

For those of you who doesn’t know what E3 is, here’s a brief explanation:

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly known as E3, is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware. The new E3 Expo is run by International Data Group (IDG [1] ) instead of by ESA.

Here’s my list of the Ten Biggest News from E3

  1. Xbox 360’s Natal Motion Sensor Controller

This newly introduced controller is totally hands-free. It uses motion sensor technology to detect the motion of the player.

Update: Sony also announced a motion controller. It uses a camera to detect your movement of the two controllers. Check out this trailer of the controller. Deja Vu!

  2. More Mario!

Nintendo show of their favorite Italian plumber at E3 with three brand new titles: Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Mario & Luigi RPG and a New Super Mario Brothers. The only title from Nintendo that excits me from the conference is the 4 player co-op in New Super Mario Brothers. Why don’t you let Miyamoto tell you all about this game.

  3. PSP GO is a Go

Sony introduced a complete redesign of their existing PSP hand held.

  4. Kojima becames a slut: Metal Gear is now available on PS3, XBOX360, PC and PSP

  5. Kojima lost his exclusivity with Sony and is now on every platform possible. His newest upcoming hitter called Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be available for PS3, XBOX360 and PC (GOOD! Pirate it). Kojima production is also placing their games on the hands of people on the go. With the recent release of Metal Gear Solid 4 on the iPhone, Kojima is announcing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (walker; get it? What a slut) for the PSP.

  6. First Peak at Hot New Games

  8. The game that I am most Excited about from E3: New Super Mario Brothers

It’s about time that Nintendo releases something on the Wii that is actually fun for 4 players! My Wii has been collecting dust since launch date and my 4th controller is being used as a door stopper. Thank you, Miyamoto for bringing the most classic and popular mario game into the next generation console with a complete redesign on multiplayer game play. I love this concept and I will get this game on release day.

The list is incomplete as E3 ends on June 4th. Come back for more updates.
